Will Brexit change the UK doll community?

This is a question that lots of people have been having to try and answer.

Since the UK left the EU at the beginning of the year it didn’t take long for people to start running into problems.

One of the most obvious changes has been in price.

brexit

Postage to and from the UK to the rest of the world has risen.

For many people this will mean that they are not able to buy dolls or supplies from out the UK.

Another change has been on import taxes.

The price of these taxes have been very high.

So high in fact that I have heard of collectors that will now not consider buying dolls from abroad.

Likewise there has also been UK artists that will now not ship abroad.

But it isn’t just the dolls themselves that have come across problems.

Supplies have also become increasingly difficult to get.

Kits, paints and mohair really has become tricky to get.

Prices for all have risen and will continue to rise while the stocks run low.

This increase in price will also mean the increase of the price of the dolls that are made.

It does make me wonder if it means that the community within the UK will become more detached from the rest of the community.

This will be a hard time for both collectors and artists.

I will be following how it plays out affect all involved.
