I said before that the doll shows now give me hope and this at the Rose Doll Show has to be a big reason why.
I am not sure how many of you will remember this from last year, but it was such a successful, benefical thing that I am so happy to see it back.
Sarah Mellman organises this fantastic show of kindness and generousity amongst the community.
Taking to social media she shared some of the details with us all.
“Hello my fantastic dolly friends!!
After looking through Utah at various programs and groups and trying to contact several with no luck in response.
I decided to think outside of Utah’s show location for our yearly ROSE Cares service project.
This year for ROSE Cares we are partnering up with with the incredible program Dollies 4 the Hollies.
This program takes applications starting August 1 each year and screens them to find those who could benefit from a new baby doll for Christmas.
They are thorough and make sure the recipients are truly in need.
Here is their mission statement…
**Our mission is to bring joy to the hearts of many young girls through the gift of a doll. “Because Every Girl Deserves a Doll for Christmas®️.”
Dollies 4 the Hollies®️ is a doll drive that donates dolls to 50 children nationwide.
Since 2022, Dollies 4 the Hollies has been widely recognized and supported by several world renowned doll artists and collectors who wish to keep doll collecting alive among young children.
Nominations run yearly from August 1 through October 12.
Recipients who reside in Maryland, District of Columbia, Northern Virginia or surrounding areas are requested to attend our doll giveaway event which is scheduled in early December.
This event is closed to the public.**
At this live event the girls receive their babies, they also get dolly bucks to spend on clothing and accessories for their new babies.
It’s a super fun event that we are excited to help support.
It is our goal to collect a minimum of 20 babies for this event.
We will also collect new and gently used baby clothes, blankets and accessories to send for their dolly shop event.
We are collecting new or gently used **Reborn’s; awake or asleep, 14-21 inches weighing 1-5 pounds depending on size of baby doll, can be Ethnic or Caucasian, painted hair, rooted hair or bald,
**New factory store bought dollies (Walmart or target type babies)
** New or gently used Ashton drake or paradise gallery babies,
** new barbies,
**new or gently used American girl style dolls,
**and any new or gently used accessories that go with any of the above mentioned dolls, ie; blankets, clothes, bottles, diapers, pacifiers, etc.
We will have a table to bring your donations to and we will ship all the items to the Dollies 4 the Hollies program after the show closes.
We would love your help in supporting our service project at this years show. If you have any questions please feel welcome to contact me directly.
These pictures are from previous Dollies 4 the Hollies events.”
As always when I find any more information or update about this I will of course share it with you all.
This cause is so worthy of our support.
Can’t wait to see how it works.
