Xavi’s soft blend platinum silicone was carefully prepared to accept his paint and then the real “labor” began.
His tone was created with a special pallet created just for him. He has complete and full details including tiny capillaries, subtle and life-like veins,
mottled blushing, beautiful undertones and true to life nails. He is matted using silicone matting products and his silicone is silky-smooth.
Xavi’s tone is exceptional and so very realistic!
Please note: Xavi has some imperfections that occurred during molding. Prototypes are created in order to find these imperfections and fix them for the edition pouring. They do not distract from the over-all wonderfulness of this baby boy! The left side corner of his upper lip has a imperfection which is clearly seen in the close up photos that have been provided. The rest of the imperfections can be found on his toes and a few of his fingers, mostly in the nail areas.
Xavi has a full head of carrot colored, soft, Angora kid mohair!
Debbie hand processed this baby kid mohair right here at They Never Grow Up Nursery in acid dyes so that it will never bleed or fade.
She also meticulously directionally rooted the hair deep into his head in a manner so that it will stay in his head and keep its growth pattern. Debbie has learned which needle is the very best for rooting silicone so that the hair is “knotted” or “ matted” on the inside of the head allowing it to stay in the head for years and years of brushing and snuggling.
His hair has already brushed it many, many, many times during the rooting process. I am 100% confident in its stability.
All of his photos were taken with his hair completely dry. Debbie simply had to brush with a baby brush to put it back in place after outfit changes….no re-wetting was needed, even after wearing many hats. The hair that I process and use on my dolls is exceptional hair. He has a little bit of alpaca hair around his face line.
Adding to his realism, Debbie hand rooted tiny lashes; carefully sealing them to keep them in place.
His body is poured into one complete piece. His neck is super flexible allowing it to turn both ways easily.
He has an open mouth that accepts a small full pacifier (or a modified pacifier) and a small nipple bottle.
He had gums and a tongue.
Xavi has no armatures.
